Frustrated Friday

Instead of Freeform Friday, today is Frustrated Friday. Most of yesterday I did not have internet access.  Finally after resetting the modem 1/2 a dozen times this morning and moving next to the sliding glass door we have internet.  Really slow, who knows when it's going to die internet.

And it died while trying to write this blog post this morning.  And now  after 4 pm, it's finally back up. Hubby called them earlier and apparently it was a problem with the local tower.  So maybe I better finish this post before it dies again.

Here is another wonderful ArtFire collection for today:

Our Internet Service Provider (or lack of internet and service)

We have been out of internet service most of the day.  This is an on again off again reoccurring problem. It's making me crazy(er).  Here in the Desert Wind household, we've pretty much determined it's time to switch ISP's.

I want to upload some things to ArtFire, but I've lost internet so many times today! So I'm a little frustrated!

Well, while working on this post I did manage to upload a couple of things to ArtFire. Yay!  Including this key chain. Hopefully I get more uploaded tonight.  Although, I'm at the mercy of our ISP. . .

My muse and I have reached an agreement!

Once I get twenty items in my ArtFire Studio, she can have free range for a bit.  I have nine items already, and a bunch I need to photograph.  My muse is already getting antsy, she doesn't understand that I do have other things I need to do -  you know things like grocery shopping, cooking and thinking about cleaning house.

Hopefully I can get some more things photographed today.  My goal is to have a total of twenty items listed by this weekend.  That means I need to get off the internet and get at it!

But before I go, I have another cool collection from ArtFire to post!

Today's Collection

Here is today's collection:

I have one more for tomorrow.

Right now my muse and I are having a fight!  I'm telling her I need to get some less time consuming jewelry pieces done.  And she is saying there are some things you need to try.  It might be best to give in to her a little bit. . .

ArtFire Collections

I woke up this morning to find that my fellow "Smooshers" included me in two ArtFire Collections!  I'm posting the first one today and the second one tomorrow.

My 100 items goal is going way slower than I had envisioned.  I'm down grading to 1-2 pieces a day instead of 4.  My current count is 14 new items completed:

  • Neckaces - 4
  • Earrings    - 4
  • Bracelets  - 3
  • Key rings - 3
That's not counting the bracelet I'm kept for myself or the key ring I need to redo. I've redone 2 key rings already.

My ArtFire Studio has 9 items in it - I want to get that to 20 so the front page is full.  So, I guess I better get at it!

Polymer Clay Smooshers

I joined the "Polymer Clay Smooshers" a guild on ArtFire. Love the name!  They hold various events and challenges throughout the year.  (Sadly, I missed the medieval challenge).

But, I am in time for the Mythology challenge - boy I'm going to have to put on my thinking cap for that! Good thing I have till January 6.

The current event, the annual Masquerade Clay Ball lasts the entire month of October.  The deadline to have Masks completed has passed.  But, it sounds like fun!  And, this challenge is also open to fans of Polymer Clay Smooshers.

Masks are made with or incorporate polymer clay and are any size, even jewelry size.

Polymer Clay Mask by Creative Critters
Here is a mask from last year, created by Creative Critters  It was made with purple, pink and glow in the dark clay. I 'd  love to see this one at night!

Freeform Friday

Me wearing triangle  shawl
I did some random knitting over the summer.  I don't usually knit that much in the summer - it's too warm!  This wrap was actually done during Sept. for a  KAL (knit along)  with the Jane Thornley group over at Ravelry

It is done using "freerange" knitting.  It's a lot of fun!  Mine is done with inexpensive acrylic yarn - I just can't afford the real yummy stuff!

Jane also held a "Summer Vacation Knit Along".  My bad, I entered at the last minute.  And won yarn! Three winners where drawn at random.  The yarn I received is so yummy!  The picture does not in any way do it justice!

Two of those skeins would be great for the Autumn KAL which starts today.  Problem is it the nicest yarn in my stash.  I can't afford to buy yarn to go with it.  AND I"m not using cheap yarn with it. I'm going to slowly work on adding yarns  to go with it.

You can go check out her group at:  Jane's group on Ravelry  But, you have to be register on Ravelry to access anything! Here is the Ravelry website. And here is Jane's website.  Go and see what freerange knitting is about! It's a lot of fun. If you are at all interested in knitting (or crocheting or spinning or weaving), I would recommend Ravelry.
